What percentage of people who have applied for a loan modification actually got one?
Of those, is it possible to know what percentage of those were 30yr fixed rates versus any other type that seems to simply postpone the problem?

People who have a true hardship are finding success rates of obtaining a loan mod very him. In the 90% plus range. As to how many were for a 30 year fix rate I don’t have statistics for you. But I can say the vast majority is of these are only fixed for a few years then you get and adjustable rate. Something you might want to consider is called a Short Refi. These are very difficult to do as of right now but I believe they will become more main stream in the next six months or so. A short refi will let you refinance your home at the current market value.
